Playing “The Last of Us” with the New PS3 Update

In a world like ours, a day or a week of prosperity is followed by one or two of loss and sorrow. The PlayStation is no exception to life’s trends: Gamers report that their PS3s locked up after downloading the latest update from Sony.

Yesterday, IGN entertainment was informed the updates were designed to improve system stability & add Trophy notification options. Unfortunately instead of doing X the update did Y. Thankfully, Sony pulled the update in order to fix it. Unfortunately, PlayStation Plus users may have already gotten the update automatically.

cN0bmXQA Sony spokesperson said,

We are aware of reports that the recent PlayStation 3 system software update (version 4.45) has caused the XMB to not display on a small number of PS3 systems. We have temporarily taken 4.45 offline and are investigating the cause of the problem. We will announce when the system update is available for download as soon as possible.  We apologise for the inconvenience.

If you have a PS3 that does not update automatically, do not get the update until Sony fixes it.
