The Ghosts Meet Their Deadly Match in Ghost Recon Breakpoint
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint has finally been revealed and it looks like Jon Bernthal (aka Frank Castle from the cancelled The Punisher Netflix series) will be paying the antagonist. I was originally on the fence about this and was worried about it being a Wildlands clone, and whilst it does look similar in a lot of regards, it does feel much more intense and story driven this time around.
The premise is just as intense as well, as the elite Ghost Recon team will be finally facing their match with The Wolves, an elite army of spec ops soldiers’ gone rogue. They are of course, led by Cole Walker, the character played by Bernthal who will stop at nothing to takeover Aurora in order to control a large army of lethal and autonomous drones.
The game looks to hone in on the survival aspect of special operations, where fatigue, wounds and more can quickly become a deadly enemy of its own if not paid attention to. The alpha gameplay showed elements of it with the protagonist bandaging their wounds and inject what appeared to be some sort of adrenaline shot, allowing them to continue the fight. Another interesting feature that was shown was the camouflage option that lets you cover yourself in mud when lying on soft ground.
It genuinely does look really cool, and luckily we won’t have to wait long as Ghost Recon: Breakpoint will be available on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One on the 4th of October. If you are interested in watching the entire live-stream below, as well as a batch of screenshots.
