Resident Evil 2 Remake IS Happening!
After years of waiting and recent teasing, Capcom has announced that finally Resident Evil 2 will be remade for the new generation of console. Now we’re not talking a HD remaster, but an actual remake of the beloved and iconic game. Here’s to hoping that it will have the same kind of effect as the Resident Evil remake from 2002 for the Nintendo Gamecube.
Announcing this news via a YouTube video (as seen above), Yoshiaki Hirabayashi (Capcom Producer) from the Capcom R&D department promised us that we will all be kept updated on the official Resident Evil Facebook page, but as this remake is in its baby stages, there’s no content to be shown just yet.
He also said this, which should be pleasing to fans ears “You’ve been telling us for years that you want Resident Evil 2 to be remade,” said Hirabyashi, “and we haven’t been able to make it happen…until now.“
Capcom also released this short statement:
We’re pleased to confirm that Resident Evil 2 has been approved for development. As the title is only just starting its development cycle we unfortunately don’t have any additional information or assets to share at this time. However, for now we want our fans to know that we appreciate all the feedback and support we’ve received on this title. We’re looking forward to delivering this highly anticipated Resident Evil experience that fans have been waiting for.
Resident Evil 2 is my all-time favourite game and I know I’m not alone in that statement, as this is considered to be one of the best survival horror games ever made. So of course we will update you on any further developments….oh and finally….IT’S F@CKING HAPPENING! YUSS!
