Turtle Rock Returns and so Does the Left 4 Dead (Sort of)
The current generation of hardware didn’t showcase Turtle Rock Studios in exactly the best light. As the studio’s only current gen title to date was the now infamous Evolve. A game so inherently greedy that even the paid online shills couldn’t make up for the bad press at which end Evolve had found itself. But this particular shambles of a game is now in the past, and Turtle Rock Studios is set to make a grand return with a spiritual sequel to Left 4 Dead.
Earlier today, Turtle Rock Studios has announced that it has entered a publishing partnership with Warner Brothers. And that the first title for which the two will be responsible, is a first person zombie shooter titled Back 4 Blood. Which is fairly ironic, as it seems like Turtle Rock are returning for more of your lifeblood and the money that you still hold.
The above is of course a joke, as in truth both the title’s stylistic and underlying context imply that Turtle Rock is returning to its roots. And that it will make an attempt to compensate the gamers world-over for Evolve with a brand new and improved sequel (of sorts) to Left 4 Dead 2.
Due to Left 4 Dead being a valve franchise, Turtle Rock of course couldn’t create another instalment without Gabe’s supervision. But despite title, Turtle Rock promises that Back 4 Blood will not only be a successor to Valve’s co-op zombie shooter, but a vast improvement across the board. However, at this date very little is known about the title, besides the fact that it will feature both co-op and zombies. So for now, consider yourself spoiled.
