Are We About to Get a New Jade Empire?

Now this is all speculation at this point, but there’s a chance that a new Jade Empire might be on the cards, as just last month, EA has submitted a new trademark application for the franchise.  This could mean absolutely nothing, as many companies submit trademarks on their products as procedure at the risk of avoiding losing any IP rights, but a new title isn’t out of the realms of possibility.

The original Jade Empire is currently playable on Xbox One via its backwards compatibility feature, and it’s a BioWare RPG that’s very much held in high regard by fans since its release in 2005.  Personally I would love to see a continuation of its story or at the very least; a full remake could be an exciting prospect none the less.  However, seeing as EA are really into their “live services” right now, I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of some sort of MMO happening, or this could just be nothing more than a simple trademark application.

Naturally, we’ll keep you posted should we hear any more news on this story, but be sure to let us know your thoughts across our social media channels.  Would you like to see a Jade Empire sequel or a remake of the first game?  Do let us know.
