New Resident Evil 3 Details, Includes Real-Life Scanned Nemesis, Mercs Will Not Return and More!
The release of the Resident Evil 3 remake is just around the corner and some new gameplay details (and confirmations) have just been released, courtesy of an interview with the PlayStation Magazine UK.
The new details revealed includes the Nemesis being created in real-life (essentially as a cosplay), so that he can be scanned via photogrammetry to ensure an uncanny level of detail. The Nemesis’ AI is also based upon the Tyrant/Mr X from the Resident Evil 2 remake, but the Nemesis AI been improved upon in RE3.
Not that many of us probably expected it, Raccoon City will not be open-world, but just like the 1999 original, you will be able to explore the streets and visit locations such as the Raccoon Police Department, the shops, the Stagla Petrol Station, the Raccoon Press Offices and the hospital.
Sound will also be a key feature in the game once more with players having to “rely on it to anticipate dangers lying in wait around the corner.” As in the 1999 original, Carlos Oliveira will again be a playable character and mutant worms will be back. The multiple choice mechanic will also be back; however, other than changing some scenarios, it will not affect the ending as there will be no multiple endings in the RE3 remake. However, one feature that will not return is The Mercenaries, which disappoints me, as I loved this mode in the original RE3.
