Mortal Kombat Kollection Could Be On Its Way Very Soon!
Back in April of last year, the Mortal Kombat Kollection Online leaked and was in development by the studio Blind Squirrel Games, who have an impressive résumé working on a number of remasters and PC ports including the likes of The Bioshock Collection, Sims 4, XCOM 2: War of the Chosen, Sunset Overdrive and more. However, this Mortal Kombat Kollection was seemingly leaked and never appeared again, that is until now.
Spotted by Gematsu, they discovered a PEGI (Pan European Game Information) description, a European content rating system for videogames and apps. In the description of the PEGI rating, it said “Mortal Kombat Kollection Online is the original Mortal Kombat trilogy that MK fans always wanted. Upgraded art, gameplay, and online features provide an incredible experience that revive the ‘klassics’…”
The description also stated that Mortal Kombat Kollection Online will release for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, with a release date of January 21st, 2020, and of course has an 18 rating. Obviously that release date has now passed, but it doesn’t mean that this collection of remasters won’t still release in the near future.
On last-gen systems, we did get a Mortal Kombat Kollection with the original three games, but they were very basic ports with a HD resolution and some online play if I remember correctly. However, judging by the images that leaked last year, the visuals will be greatly improved upon and according to the PEGI description; the gameplay will also be improved as well as receiving various updated features, including once again, online play (as its name suggests).
If I was going to take a guess, seeing as this has now appeared on the PEGI rating systems, an official announcement is likely to be close and when that news breaks, we’ll update you right away. Are you excited for this “Kollection”? Let us know across our social media channels.
