The sequel to indie horror, Layers of Fear 2 arrives this May.  In the first game, it was by no means perfect and it was a little rough around the edges, but it had its moments and for the most part, it was a decent horror title.  The original game also followed the story of a once successful painter, falling into a mental demise that lives in a house of horrors trapped within his own fears.

Layers of Fear 2 will now tell the tale of a once famed Hollywood actor, invited by a charismatic movie director aboard the luxury Art Deco ocean liner.  Desperate to reclaim his fame, our protagonist doesn’t need much persuading to get aboard.

Layers of Fear 2 is developed by The Game and Bloober Team, the studio that brought us the critically acclaimed cyberpunk horror, Observer and will star famous horror movie icon, Tony Todd aka The Candyman.

To give you a good taste as to what to expect, below I’ll include both a trailer from earlier in the year and an extended gameplay demo from PAX East earlier in the month.  You can also read our review of the original Layers of Fear here for the Nintendo Switch.

Layers of Fear 2 will release for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 28th.  Hopefully a Nintendo Switch release will follow a little later in the year.
