I know Nothing About this Anime Inspired Football Game, but Captain Tsubasa Looks Awesome!

As the title of this article suggests, I know nothing about the Captain Tsubasa anime, and to be honest, the first I ever heard of it was just the other week when the first gameplay trailer released for the videogame inspired by the series.  Thankfully, Bandai Namco has released a video for n00b’s such as me, so that we can get a little up-to speed for when Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions releases later this year.

The video in question details the story mode featured in the game and the hero of the story, Tsubasa Ozora and his rise to fame from his National Middle School Tournament, to some of his most epic matches on the biggest stage.  The trailer also highlights much of the insane and over-the-top gameplay that we can come to expect, and to say that this game offers an alternative to the likes of FIFA and PES, is an understatement.

Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions will release for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch later this year.
