Dead Island 2 Is Still Alive and Is Not Dead, Apparently
Announced way back in 2014, Dead Island 2 has pretty much turned into this generation’s version of Duke Nukem: Forever as it seems to have been lost in developmental hell, almost as soon as it was announced. In-fact, I played an alpha build at EGX in 2014 and it was a buggy, crash-fest mess. But even so, you’d think that Dead Island 2 would have released long before now. However, it has suffered so many delays, changes of developers and so forth, that many had forgotten about its existence.
So you’d be forgiven in thinking that Dead Island 2 will never release, personally, I’ve pretty much given up hope that it will ever see the light of day. But even if it does release, will it be doomed to fail on arrival and with Dying Light 2 expected to release this year, Dead Island 2 might have too much of a steep hill to climb.
However, at a recent THQ Nordic financial report call, they stated that Dead Island 2 “is still being worked on” and that we should “stay tuned” for information. Apparently at the call, a slide show logo for Dead Island 2 was shown accompanied by PC, PS4 and Xbox One logos, indicating that it’s still set to release on this generation.
In the same financial report call, THQ Nordic also announced that they currently have 80 games under development, 32 have already been announced and 48 of which have not been announced as of yet.
Have you given up hope on Dead Island 2 or are you still looking forward to its release? Let us know across our social media channels. Hopefully, we’ll finally get some new information and some gameplay at E3 next month.
