Dead Island 2 Is Alive and Well, in the Hands of a New Developer

You’d be easily forgiven in thinking that Dead Island 2 is long dead, after all, it’s already had two developers and we first previewed the game way back in 2014 at EGX!  Since then the game has been in developmental hell, with the fear that it will never see the light of day.

However, THQ Nordic has revealed that the game is alive and well, and it is now in the hands of a third developer, Nottingham based, Dambuster Studios.  This development team is very much an upstart studio, but they have already worked on Homefront: The Revolution, which suffered a very dodgy launch, but after several updates with love and care, it’s apparently turned into a very decent game indeed, post launch.

Hopefully this will be the last time that Dead Island 2 gets passed about, because I want to finally play the game.  But I have no doubts that if it receives the same level of commitment shown in repairing Homefront: The Revolution, Dambuster Studios might just be what Dead Island 2 needs to have its back and finally get its overdue release.

Hopefully in the coming months we’ll learn a little more on Dead Island 2 and who knows, we might actually see some new gameplay.  As always, we’ll keep you posted.
