Approaching the imminent release of Darksiders Genesis, the new spin off top down shooter in the Darksiders series, a cinematic (stroke) gameplay trailer has been released entitled ‘Introducing Strife’.

Perhaps a bit misleading as it’s not really an introduction to the character, but a short segment where he makes a quip and then proceeds into a gameplay compilation.

There’s not really much to say about the trailer, other than I’m ready to play the actual game now.

The press release has more to say about the character, introducing him as:

“The Rider of the White Horse, is both impulsive and witty, true to the motto “Shoot first, ask questions later” or “Two Guns, one Horseman”.

He is the one who has blood on his boots on a pretty much constant basis. He fought countless enemies with his two best friends, Mercy and Redemption and the protection of his impenetrable armor.”

The game is releasing very soon for PC with a date of 5th December, however console players will have to wait a while longer until 14th February – for a release on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

I started gaming with the release of the PS1 - Crash Bandicoot and Ridge Racer Revolution being the first 'real' games I ever set eyes on - and have been enthralled with the medium ever since. I particularly love strategy and horror games, the sort offered by titles such as Total War and Silent Hill, though I also have a soft spot for a good RPG. I studied Journalism at university in the hopes of progressing into writing about games. You'll most likely find me covering indie games as I'm always on the look out for interesting little titles, and generally I stick to the PC and PS4 platforms. I'm not interested in MMOs or really any kind of online game, and I have an unusual and frankly worryingly expensive obsession with collecting gaming guide books, but aside from that I like to think I'm a well rounded average gamer.
