PS4 to launch in 2014?

Rumours have hit today that Sony will be releasing their next generation console, the PS4, in 2014, with a quality of release title rarely seen before.

Killzone 4, God of War 4, and Resistance 4 will be the games lining up alongside the new console, as it appears Sony will win the battle to be the first major gaming company to release it’s next generation console. The PS3’s later release date than its contenders, Microsoft’s XBox360 and the Nintendo Wii, Sony may skip out a generation of gaming and go straight into the next one, in order to allow the PS3 enough selling time, as it begins to fight back in the gaming sales. Many speculate that Microsoft and Nintendo will be aiming to release their next generation consoles in 2012/2013, but many of the updates made will merely join the PS3 on technical attributes. By focussing on a later deadline, Sony can ensure that their console is the best suited for a longer period of time.
