20. August, 2010 PC No comments

Wait, hold on there! Don’t get rid of your subcription to Final Fantasy XI, just because Final Fantasy XIV is soon to be released on September 22nd (for PC users. You PlayStation 3 owners have got to sit tight and wait till March 22nd 2011). Square Enix figured that would be your normal course of action and so have offered benefits to keeping your Final Fantasy XI account, while you get to grips with the world of Final Fantasy XIV.

For doing the right thing (according to Square Enix) you will be entired to three bonuses:

Bonus 1:
Save up to €5.95 on the base FINAL FANTASY XI Monthly Subscription Fee – The FINAL FANTASY XI monthly subscription fee will be discounted from €12.95 to €7.00 and £8.99 to £5.00 per month on FINAL FANTASY XI accounts linked to the same Square Enix Account as FINAL FANTASY XIV.

Bonus 2:
A Special FINAL FANTASY XIV In-Game Item – FINAL FANTASY XIV players with an active FINAL FANTASY XI account will begin their adventure with a special in-game item: Hermes’ Shoes. “Named after an elder god, all but forgotten in the modern age, these gold-tipped shoes have been crafted with the lightest of leather, making them optimal for use by heralds and noterunners.”

Bonus 3:
Transfer Your FINAL FANTASY XI Character Name into FINAL FANTASY XIV – When creating a new playable character on a FINAL FANTASY XIV account, a character name used from the linked FINAL FANTASY XI account can be transferred to FINAL FANTASY XIV.

There’s a bunch of rules that you must abide by but in general most of you should qualify for these bonuses if you have both the games. Oh and this is only for the PC owners, but don’t fret as Square Enix have said they will be announcing bonuses for PlayStation 3 version at a later date.
