Skyward Sword and Mario 3D Land Smash Their Way Through Records!
This month has marked a fantastic milestone for Nintendo. Lately they’ve been falling behind the likes of Microsoft and Sony who have been dishing out fantastic and epic games including Gears of War 3 and Uncharted 3. But this month it seems as though Nintendo are back on track!
Firstly, Super Mario 3D Land is now the fastest selling Mario handheld game ever, shifting over 500, 000 copies in America alone since its release date. Yes, that means it beat its predessor New Super Mario Bros., marking a big step for Nintendo. This game has marked a new turn for Mario fans, as not only do you get to play in an all new fantastic 3D world, but you also get to play in some of the same styles seen in previous Mario games, giving us that classic Mario feel! The only problem people may face with this game is the difficulty, it may be too hard, may be too easy, we do not know, only you’ll know the answer to that!
Ocarina of Time is undoubtly one of the greatest games ever made. The first full 3D world of Zelda and it broke and pushed boundries that no other game could have achieved in the day! Moving to the future where a new Zelda game lays at bay, Skyward Sword then comes and breaks records not only for the fastest selling Zelda game on the Wii, but also the fastest selling Zelda game…EVER! This game carried a heavy amount of positive reviews even being considered as being on par or greater than Ocarina of Time itself! This month has proved that Nintendo can smash their way back into the holiday season race against their rivals! Not only do they have these two big guns at their dissposal, they also have the release of Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS, which is being hailed as the greatest Mario Kart game ever. We will be putting our review of this game up very soon and we can promise that it brings good news!
So what do you think? Are Nintendo back in the game or will this be a very short lived burst for them? Of course they will need to carry on bringing these epic games out, but they will also need to keep their consumers at bay for more exciting titles that would earn them that hard earned cash!
Mario Kart 7 is released on the 3DS this Friday!

Taken from GameInformer: Later, another truck was forced to stop in the middle of a road by a vehicle blocking its path. Again, armed men — this time packing handguns — jumped out and seized the truck from the driver.

Details Revealed In The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Nintendo has yet again revealed a number of fascinating details about the many vast locations, items and gameplay features in the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, scheduled for release exclusively for Wii on November 18th 2011. Following the recent unveiling of the new fully interactive area; Faron Woods, fans and newcomers alike can now get a sneak peak at the many intriguing details about this new area and others like it, also a glimpse at how players will be able to manoeuvre Link through various environments and have him wield his new whip using the Wii Remote Plus controller. Some of the more recent element revealed within the game are:
- Players will be able to use the Wii Remote Plus to flail Link’s trusty whip at various enemies and objects in the game. It will also be used to grab items which will no doubt play an integral role in solving certain puzzles. Link’s items can also be selected in real time without needing to pause the game, making it easier to switch between items and making your overall experience within the game more immersive.
- As featured in previous titles, swimming will give you the chance to explore uncharted territories under the various lakes within the game but with the intuitive motion-control of the Wii Remote Plus, players will fluently control Link’s every move as he manoeuvres the watery depths.
- Later on in your quest, Link must make his way to an undiscovered part of the Faron Woods that is known to be the home of Lake Floria. The lake is inhabited by a marine race known as the Parella tribe, who will be making their first ever appearance in The Legend of Zelda franchise. Even after revisiting past areas such as Faron Woods, players will make new discoveries and occasionally may notice large changes to the environment gicing you a chance to explore these areas in entirely different ways.
- Insects and Potions: Throughout the game, Link will freely be able to travel back and forth between the surface and Skyloft (Link’s home). But throughout your journey you will be able to collect bugs crawling and buzzing around the various areas you visit which can be used to create a variety of different potions that will also be available for purchase at the bazaar in Skyloft.
- Fun Fun Island is one of the many new locations found in Skyward Sword and is one of the small islands floating near Link’s hometown. As the name suggests, there is no doubt a heap of fun to be had there, but before Link can enjoy everything the island has to offer, he must find a way to carry out a request from the Island’s sole inhabitant.
