To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the shooter that started it all, Wolfenstein 3D is now available to play directly within your browser, for FREE!! While Doom might have released later and be more familiar to gamers, Wolfenstein 3D (also by ID) was the game that truly estabalished what the First Person Shooter was all about.

The most recent release, Wolfenstein (2009, Raven) added a paranormal aspect to the classic shooter, reviving the series for a new audience. If you want to take the original on the go, you can grab Wolfenstein 3D for your iOS device from the App Store for free for a limited time.

Giving more of an insight into the title’s development and creation, John Carmack (Technical Director of ID Software) appears on a Video Podcast, providing some history on both ID and the game via a commentary track.

There is no word on future developments in the Wolfenstein series, with the last release Wolfenstein currently available for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Today cjszero01 brings you his quick 5 list of his favorite Legend of Zelda games. As a reminder this list is only a personal list so if you have a difference of opinion leave a comment about your favorite Zelda games. There’s not much that really needs to be said about making a favorite Zelda list, everyone of them is special in their own talented way (the ones made by Nintendo and Capcom anyway). Enjoy.

Kickstarter has yet another success story! Reported earlier in the week by Gabriel, Shadowrun Returns hit Kickstarter with a goal of $400,000 (coincidentally the same amount as the recent Double Fine Adventure Kickstater), and aimed to bring about another entry into the classic RPG franchise (excusing a certain 2007 FPS) featuring a ‘graphically rich 2D turn-based single player game with deep story interaction, meaningful character envelopment and highly-contextual tactical combat’.

Within 28 hours the goal had been passed, and the total pledge is currently over $550,000 and rising, with still another 22 days to go.

Jordan Weisman (the creator of Shadowrun Returns) posted a YouTube response to the page, and after a number of happy staffers thank the fans, Jordan goes on to list what the extra funds will allow them to do. A Mac port is in the works, as well as other languages such as German, French and Spanish, but also new features such as Co-Op and PVP Deathmatch will be included.

Watch the embedded video below to hear it directly from the creators of this exciting new project.

Wow, that was incredible.

From the bottom of our hearts, we’d like to say THANK YOU to everyone who has backed us so far. If we weren’t working our butts off on our new game, we’d be dancing around the Closet (our tiny office) with tears of joy streaming down our faces. Instead, the team is heads-down at their computers, sniffling loudly and wiping their eyes with their shirt-sleeves.

To everyone asking about a Mac version of the game, we’ve been saying that if we hit the $425,000 level, we’d add it. Linux support is definitely on the table too! (After all, who’d be a better Decker?

In Jordan’s video update below, he talks about things we could add to the game if we hit higher funding milestones. We’re working on clarifying those milestones and will have an update for you before the weekend (in Seattle).

Keep an eye on Push-Start, we we’ll be reporting further developments on Shadowrun Returns.

Pokemon Colosseum is a love it or hate it game. Of course that really depends on how you approach it. If you were expecting all the features that stadium series had then I assume this game greatly disappointed you. Hey I knew what I got before it came out so I am not on that side of the argument.

Pros: The story mode had a fresh feel to it, The Colosseum matches put up a much better fight than the stadium series, Pokecoupons to buy items for your games are a good replay value, bonus disc for those who pre-ordered it, Nice music.

Cons: Why do they replay so many of those battle tracks again and again? The Story mode can get repetitive and tedious at times, If you didn’t have a GBA link cable a GBA and a Pokemon handheld game then why did you buy this?

Theme Hospital is a fantastic game from Bullfrog. Released back in 1997, it tasked you with managing an up and coming hospital. Jobs ranged from employing staff, arranging the layout and even keeping an eye on the heating levels. Sure, this may not sound like something you could enjoy, but in the same style seen in their previous game Theme Park, this game broke new ground in the genre.

Witling down the complicated nature of running a hospital, adding a lot of humour and even some rather disturbing illnesses and ailments, this classic title offered something completely new and original, providing an entirely new way to look at hospital management. What’s even better is that the game is just as playable today as it was back when it was released.

After playing this game recently, I came to a number of conclusions that I think could both increase productivity, and reduce costs in the current hospital climate!

I present to you;

Windows increase productivity, no matter where they are placed

While studies have tried to show that daylight is good for you and will increase your workplace productivity, they have a fatal flaw. It’s not the sunlight that’s beneficial, it is in-fact just the inclusion of windows. The more there are, the better for your workforce, simple enough. Even better is the fact that you don’t even need to have the windows on the outward wall, just put them anywhere, as many as you like! Who cares if the windows in the staff room offer a clear view of the toilets? The doctors stress levels will thank you for this.

Rifles shot from the sky are an effective form of pest control

Pests and infestation cost countless amounts from the yearly budget, but thankfully, Theme Hospital has a cheap and reliable method for dealing with those pesky rodents. Simply have an open top hospital, a sniper on a blimp hovering above, and let him have at it. While there is the small possibility of human causalities, and of course a little mess to clean up, it’s not that big of a problem considering the costs it would save in using poison or other tactics to weed them out! You may have to wait for them to scurry across the floor, but with a patient sharpshooter waiting calmly above, all that will be needed is a prompt caretaker.

Patients that are sent for research should not be expected to return

Research is a hugely important part of modern science. Test tubes and hypotheses are all well and good, but what is even better is when you have a live human subject to test on. Theme Hospital seems to have cracked this with the all-in-one Research-o-matic. Yes, I may have just created that word, but the concept is perfect. While it is unclear what happens to the subjects inside the machine, the best part of this is that it’s clean, simple, and the patients seem willing to be sent in, even though there is no chance of return. Quick and painless research with no waivers to get in the way.

No matter how unsure you are, take a guess at a cure

Having a 100% chance of cure is always nice, but what if it’s under 50%? Take a guess, at least that’s what Theme Hospital recommends. Sure, your reputation may take a little hit if you are unsuccessful, plus an extra body bag may be required, but it’s worth it in the long run. Despite some small repercussions, a few plants or coke machines scattered around will cheer everyone back up. You could even put some benches down to make sure everyone can sit down, everyone loves that! With these few simple steps, your reputation will be on the way to recovery. Oh, and also, if anyone comes in with a flashing light above their head, get them sorted first!

Keep the place warm. Even though you may have plastered your hospital with radiators, someone will find the cold spot and complain

Keeping your hospital clean, efficient and your patients happy is very important, but you’d better not forget about the heating. Thankfully radiators are cheap and seem to be able be placed anywhere. Cold spot in the middle of the corridor? Not a problem! Unfortunately, while you may have plastered your hospital with these mystical heat providers, if there is a single pixel that isn’t covered, someone will find it and complain! This may leave you going over the map with a fine toothcomb to find the cold pixels, but your reputation is counting on it.

Yes, cjszero01 has decided to do a co-list with a youtube friend named MisterOrangeJinjo. This list is primarily about the classic Megaman weapons that do more than just slaughter the enemies in your path. It’s about the weapons that can be used for another function or that allow Megaman to do things he couldn’t do on his own. Of course for the useless list these are the weapons we felt that you would better off with your default mega buster. Enjoy.

It’s finally time to give Banjo and Kazooie their long over due top ten list. Doing a top ten list for this series seems a bit generic as the only things that strongly define the Banjo-Kazooie series are worlds, how to get jiggies, and characters (though the characters might get their own list someday). Of course ask anyone who’s played these games and they’ll tell you the music tracks truely stand out from everything else (except Banjo-Tooie). So with that in mind here are my 10 favorite Banjo-Kazooie and the few I liked from Tooie music tracks, enjoy.
