Incoming! Copy That! Worms Plush now available!

Throughout the years the Worms franchise has evolved a number of times. Starting life on a 2D plane, you could literally count the pixels of each worm on both hands. As the years went by, they slowly moved into the 3D space with mixed feelings from the fans.

Thankfully, Team 17 now cater for both audiences as you can play the more faithful 2D titles on both the iPhone and through digital download services, but also with the recent release of Worms Ultimate Mayhem (through Xbox Live and PSN), you can explore the new fangled pixel based destructible terrains to your hearts content.

What remains the same no matter which game you play though is the characterisation of the Worms themselves. You have the ability to change their appearance and voices as you blast away the other team with such weapons as the standard issue Bazooka, to the more elaborate special weapons such as the Super Sheep!

Speaking of the Super Sheep, GameOn Stuff have collaborated with Team 17 to offer Worms plush toys! Available in keyring (11cm) or larger (18cm) varieties, head on over to GameOn Stuff’s Facebook page to see the selection…and go start filling your basket since..well, they’re kinda of awesome!!

You’d better head over quick though, as they are currently running a 10% discount for Facebook fans for a ‘limited time’

Officially licensed by Team17, the creators of Worms and made from premium quality materials, this highly detailed series of plush has 4 different characters to collect, Original Worm, Army Worm, Pirate Worm and Super Sheep, start your collection now! All 4 characters are also available as keyring plush.

References to Half-Life found in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’s Beta Textures

A Counter-Strike: Global Offensive fan over on the Steam forums that goes by the username “cnnoi33sno” has discovered references to the Half-Life universe in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’s Closed Beta’s textures.

Blue Mesa Airlines is a reference to Black Mesa Research Facility from the first Half-Life.

This texture is of a poster which has a picture of a crowbar (melee weapon used in Half-Life) with the words “Raising the Bar” which is a book published by Valve about the Half-Life 2 development process you can find here.

Half-Life characters Gordon, Eli, Dr. Breen and Barney Calhoun names are mentioned on this white board.

What could these dates possibly mean?

Reddit users have been looking into this further here.

Ryder White DLC coming soon for Dead Island

Today, Deep Silver announced some brand new DLC for their zombie infected game Dead Island. The DLC in question offers a unique perspective of Dead Island’s main story as this time the player will get the chance to play as Ryder White, the antagonist of the main game. Players will get the opportunity to learn more about his motivations and why, from his point of view, he did what he had to do.

The DLC stars Ryder White as a newly playable character and offers a single player campaign with several hours of story content with twists and turns that will shed new light on the game’s happenings. There will also be two brand new blueprints and weapons that will further expand the already impressive arsenal of Dead Island.

The DLC will be available on February 1st, 2012 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. If the prospect of returning to Banoi is pleasing it will only set you back 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE Marketplace or for £7.99 on PSN and Steam.

From the above and below screens you can gather a rough idea of how action packed the third instalment of the Max Payne series is going to be. It’s Max at his baldest, with explosions in the background and beard in tow.

The last two screens are different from the first two as they show a younger Max and highlights some slight Noire aspects of Max Payne 3.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Multiplayer Modes Announced

Capcom announced yesterday the first Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Multiplayer details. Players will be able to experience online 4 vs. 4 team battles playing as either a member of the Umbrella Security Service (USS) or US Spec Ops. Check out all the details on the modes below and watch the brand new gameplay trailer.

Take on the role of the bad guys with USS members Vector, Beltway, Lupo, Four-Eyes, Spectre or Bertha. Alternatively play as the good guys and experience the horrors of Raccoon City as Tweed, Dee-

ay, Harley, Willow, Shona or Party Girl, members of the US Spec Ops that were revealed earlier this week in the Triple Impact trailer – Meet them in person by downloading their new character art on the press site. Breaking the conventions of traditional third person shooters, players will not only have to compete against the opposing squad but tackle a third unpredictable force as zombies and B.O.W.s add to the mix.

In Team Deathmatch, battle for the most kills in brutal triple threat chaos that leaves players never knowing what’s behind them, an element that could only exist in the twisted Resident Evil universe. Ensure that samples of the G-virus are returned safely to their base in Biohazard mode while fighting off all the competing forces at play in Raccoon City. Try to survive the horror just a little bit longer while waiting for rescue in Survivors mode – there’s limited space on board a helicopter so fight off the opposition and survive the hordes of hungry zombies, risking infection if they get too close. Will you make it out of Raccoon City alive!

Of course there’s also the previously announced Heroes Mode which allows fans to play as one of their favorite Resident Evil characters, including Leon S. Kennedy, Hunk or Jill Valentine.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will be available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on March 23rd across Europe.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Hits the UK in May

Today, Ubisoft announced that the upcoming Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will be available in the UK May 25th, 2012. I was fortunate enough to play Future Soldier at Eurogamer last year and I can safely say that it looked very promising. The game will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC. What’s that? You can’t wait that long? Well fear not as a multiplayer beta will be available sometime in April for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

“Ubisoft prides itself on creating some of the most compelling and innovative experiences in digital entertainment,” said Adrian Lacey, IP development director at Ubisoft Studios – France. “Today we are feature complete in our MP, Single player and 4 player coop campaign modes. We have taken the decision to move the date in order to ensure that all these ingredients are pushed to the highest level and provide a truly unique shooter experience. The Ghost Recon franchise is known for setting the standard of high definition gaming and we believe the extra couple of months will allow us to reach that goal. We would like to thank all Ghost Recon fans for their patience and look forward to unveiling some exciting new elements in the coming weeks.”
