Demon’s Souls Servers Not Shutting Down

From Software’s critically acclaimed exercise in masochism Demon’s Souls seemed to be falling in to the shadows of its new(ish) successor when Atlus and Namco Bandai announced the permanent shutting down of their online servers – thereby destroying some of the most interesting multiplayer components this generation of gaming has seen.

CVG reported that thankfully, Atlus (the publisher state-side) has claimed to be holding off on this calamity for “a while longer”. Despite this, there’s yet to be word from Namco Bandai who are responsible for the European severs; it could still be that on May 31st our UK copies of Demon’s Souls become 50% less interesting.

Let’s hope not.
