Update: Full Trailer Released for Lego DC Super Villains and Release Date Announced
Update 2 – 30?05/18: Lego DC Super Villains has officially been announced with a full trailer and a batch of screenshots. In Lego DC Super Villains, you will naturally, well, play the villain of the DC Universe. In the game, there will be an “all-new ability to create and play as your own DC Super Villain” with “player customisation [being] the heart of the story.”
Tom Stone, the Managing Director at TT Games had this to say on the character customisation feature of Lego DC Super Villains “With an unprecedented amount of customisation options to choose from, players can create and customise their character at the start of the story, unlocking new powers and abilities as they progress through the funniest LEGO game to date.”
As you progress throughout the story, your character will unlock new skills, powers and abilities, as well as extra customisable gear. The story of Lego DC Super Villains is as followed:
The Justice League has disappeared, leaving Earth’s protection to a newcomer group of heroes from a parallel universe, proclaiming themselves as the ‘Justice Syndicate’. Renowned DC Super-Villains from the ‘Legion Of Doom’ discover Earth’s newest heroes may not be the heroes they claim to be. With each player’s completely customisable Super-Villain character in command, this team of misfit lawbreakers must join forces to discover and foil the evil plans the incognito strangers have in store.
You can check out the full trailer and the screenshots below. Lego DC Super Villains will release for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on October 19th this year.
Update 1 – 30/05/18: Warner Bros. has now released a teaser trailer ahead of the full announcement which will go live today, you can watch the teaser below and of course, we’ll update you here once that full trailer is released.
Original 24/05/18: While Warner Bros and TT Games have remained tight-lipped on the details, the rumours of a Lego DC Super Villains arriving this year have been fairly frequent. However, if the recent teaser website that features a countdown clock is anything to go by with the slogan “it’s good to be bad”, not to mention the changing of profile pictures on the WB Games Facebook and Twitter accounts, it seems the announcement of the Lego DC Villains is on the way.
At this time we have no other details to go by, but we’ll learn more in less than a week’s time. Though it’s fair to say that if/when Lego DC Super Villains is announced, we will likely see it release this year for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, as always we’ll keep you posted on further news.
