Announced at Gamescom in 2014, when P.T launched as a “Playable Teaser” for a new Silent Hill game developed by Hideo Kojima, it took the internet by storm and created a buzz like no other. Unfortunately following a bust-up between Kojima and Konami, the publisher pulled it from the PSN Store, angering fans and the cancellation of the hugely anticipated game soon followed.
However, for the past nine months a talented fan has been re-creating the P.T demo using Unreal Engine to near perfection. According to the developer, the only real difference between this one and the original, is that the ending has been “changed slightly to make beating it more consistent.” So in other words, it probably means that performing certain actions is a little less fiddly and easier to perform.
Unreal P.T is also playable in VR, though the developer Radius Gordello has identified that there are bugs playing it that way and currently does not recommend doing so. The demo is playable with keyboard and mouse, as well as PS4 and Xbox One controllers.
You can download Unreal P.T here, which also includes information such as PC specification details. It’s also very likely that Konami will sadly pull this at some point, so get downloading it before its gone. I also like to give a big thank you to Radius Gordello for his great work on this demo.
