Latest Halo 4 Bulletin Showcases New Multiplayer Map ‘Longbow’. Playable at Comic-Con and RTX

After the impressive showing at this year’s E3, the wait for Halo 4 is getting pretty tough for fans. Bungie were always ones for slowly releasing new details on weapons, maps, and modes, each week via their blog updates, and thankfully 343 Industries is continuing the trend. This week’s update includes information and screenshots from a new multiplayer map called Longbow, a relatively large map for the Halo series, which looks to have an equal focus on both vehicle warfare, as well as more close quarters action.

Located in the northern polar region of the planet Concord, the frigid climate and unique gravitational conditions provide an optimal perch for Longbow Station’s channel-based mass drivers. Before the Covenant War, the UEG launched deep space monitoring relays from here in an effort to study far-flung star systems.

They continue on to discuses how it will showcase one of their new game modes (to which has yet to be announced), and after some back and forth over whether to feature both fire and ice environments, they settled on a glacier theme. While there doesn’t look to be the icey expanses that the Sidewinder map offered in the original Halo, the winding roads around the arena will surely be great for warthog runs.

If you’re heading to the RTX (Rooster Teeth Expo, July 7th-8th), you’ll be able to go hands on with the new map, also marking the first time that the general public can get their hands on the competitive aspects of Halo 4. It will also be playable at this year’s Comic-Con, hopefully you’ve booked your tickets already.

Halo 4 will be released for the Xbox 360 worldwide on November 6th.
