Homefront’s Multiplayer Descends In With A Debut Trailer

The story behind THQ’s upcoming first-person shooter is focused upon a future America in the year 2027, where a now-nuclear armed Korean People’s Army has invaded and subsequently began to engage in warfare with the USA. But in the multiplayer modes, this backdrop merely serves as a justified excuse for the two teams to blast each other to hell and back. As if it was likely they would be needing an excuse anyway.

Referring to the story concept once more, Homefront is set in a fictional world loosely based on apocalyptic fiction. The premise is that in only 15 years, the USA has not only fallen but: “is powerless to resist the ever expanding occupation” of the Greater Korean Republic.

THQ and developer Kaos Interactive’s large-scale multipayer matches currently planned for Homefront will be able to support 32-players as they spilt off into 16-player teams, as you would come to expect. On the battlegrounds, tanks, helicopters and more will be featured as each team battles for supremacy over huge maps.

Homefront will be dropping into stores around March 2011.
