Two More Vita Launch Title Trailers
Despite news coming out about small problems with the Vita as the western launch draws ever closer I can feel my tech-lust ever rising. Seeing what this little device is capable of (just look at Uncharted Golden Abyss, witchcraft!) combined with such a strong launch lineup has propelled it firmly into a day one pick up.
One of these launch games is the unfortunately titled “Touch My Katamari”. If you’ve played a Katamari game before you know what to expect, but in case you haven’t, shame on you, go play one now, I’ll wait.
Back? Good. As the above trailer shows the King of the Cosmos appears to have fallen on hard times, and it looks as if its up to Goro the Slacker to finally turn both his and the King’s lives around.
The second title to receive a new trailer is “Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen”, a sequel to the PS2′s original Shinobido. I missed out on the original and its PSP successor, but coming from the company that made Tenchu it was always a series I had an interest in. Stealth games seem to be getting fewer these days, with even the Splinter Cell series moving into more action orientated gameplay. Shinobido is still a very action packed game but relies a lot more on watching and learning than straight action, with satisfying sword executions as a reward.
Very much in the same genre as Metal Gear, Shinobido gives you the tools to be able to survive an all out attack, but rewards you for playing stealthily. Very much a feudal Japanese tactical espionage action. Featuring a dynamic branching storyline, the tale picks up six months after the original Shinobido and chronicles the trial of Zen as he seeks revenge against those who betrayed him and destroyed his home. With the ability to slow down time and glide around the sandbox style levels, Shinobido 2 is shaping up to be an exciting launch title.
Both games are on my priority list f Vita titles, but Shinobido has the edge of the two. Colour me excited indeed.
Touch my Katamari and Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen will be available for the PSVita at launch – 22 February 2012.
