For the first time ever, the gameplay for PS4 exclusive Spider-Man (not a Homecoming movie tie-in) was on show at Sony’s E3 press conference and it was simply stunning.  In the title developed by Insomniac Games (Ratchet and Clank, Sunset Overdrive), we see Spidey battle it out against some organised thugs.

We got to see some of that Batman Arkham style combat, web-slinging across the city (which worked so well in other games from the franchise), all in a cinematic presentation that was almost like watching a movie.  Interestingly it seems that Spider-Man is working with Kingpin in the footage shown and then right at the end we see Miles Morales aka the new Spider-Man in some of the new comics.

Will Miles Morales be a playable character along with Peter Parker?  I certainly hope so, only time will tell.  In the meantime, you can watch the stunning gameplay video below, as well as some juicy new screenshots.  Spider-Man is expected to release next year for PS4.
