It was announced during E3 this year that the critically acclaimed God of War would be getting a New Game Plus and it arrives this month on August 20th.

The free patch update will not only allow you to start a new game with all your armours, enhancements, talisman, abilities and resources with the difficulty of your choice, but they’ll also be brand new equipment to acquire, craft and upgrade.

You’ll also be able to activate the New Game Plus on the hardest setting “Give Me God of War” mode and Santa Monica hinted that some of the enemies we’ve previously encountered might have some new tricks up their sleeves.

Additionally, with the update you’ll also be able to skip the cinematic’s, either as a normal playthrough or with New Game Plus.  You’ll also need to finish the story of God of War at least once to activate the New Game Plus feature.

The God of War update will go live on August 20th.
