Could Shenmue & Shenmue II be coming to consoles in HD?!

A report has suggested that Sega have finished developing a HD version of the cult Dreamcast classic Shenmue and Shenmue II.

Could it be that one of the greatest, most ambitious series is on the comeback trail? Could Sega, after YEARS of nagging by fans, be resuming the Shenmue series? While there’s still no news on Shenmue III, there is a news that Sega have already finished developing a HD collection of Shenmue and Shenmue II – a year ago in fact – and the only thing holding them back is if Shenmue III will be in development or not.

Quite frankly, they should release the HD collection anyway. It would be awesome to revisit the Shenmue series in HD and it would keep us Shenmue fans from saying “Shenmue III NOW SEGA!” for a while. Plus Sega could see the response to the HD collection in deciding if they should release Shenmue III.

Website Gamerzines claims that Shenmue HD and Shenmue II  HD will be released on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.
