It’s not the first time that NeoGeo has released a mini console, but the latest could very well be their best yet.  The new NeoGeo Mini design influence is based upon the classic arcade cabinet from 1990, it will also have two different versions, one for Asia and another for the west, both however work the same and feature the same games.  The console released in the west will be in black, white and blue, while the Japanese version will be black, white and red.

The cute little arcade cabinet will fit into the palm of your hand and comes equipped with a built in arcade stick, so you can play any of its 40 classic titles from the NeoGeo golden age on a 3.5” monitor display, so you don’t even have to connect the system to a TV to play.  The dimensions of the Neo Geo Mini are as followed (W)135mm x (D)108mm x (H)162mm, weighing in at 600g.

However, should you want to play on the big screen, then fear not, because the NeoGeo Mini features a HDMI terminal, as well as a headphone port and two external controller ports.  It will also feature a power supply cable, but not an AC adaptor, so it’s safe to assume that it will be a USB cable.

The NeoGeo Mini will release sometime this year and while the full list of 40 games are yet to be confirmed, judging from the images in this article, it will at least feature Metal Slug, Samurai Showdown 2, Real Bout Fatal Fury 2: The Newcomers, as well The King of Fighters ’97 and ’98.
