Bioware have announced that Mass Effect 3, the closing chapter of its sprawling galactic trilogy, will be getting a demo in January 2012, ahead of its March 6th release.

Containing both single and multiplayer segments it will give fans a chance to sample the epic storyline and will give players their first hands-on of the newly implemented co-op elements. Hopefully anybody on the fence about the series can use this demo as an access point for the previous games, seeing as how they never had demos of their own.

Not all the content will be available to everybody day one however, the multiplayer segment will be locked out unless a Battlefield 3 online pass has been redeemed (or through yet to be announced alternate methods).

Despite the fact that a demo technically requires an online pass (an already controversial subject) this should be a nice new years gift from Bioware.

I’m Commander Shepherd, and this will be my favourite demo on the marketplace

When he's not at university Shaun can probably be found gaming, its what he grew up doing and that doesn't look to change any time soon. Currently on track for a first class degree in Crime Scene Science its a miracle he even has free time to play games, let alone write about them. Although maybe that's why he has no sleep pattern...
